After poor test screenings, The Weinstein Co. is sending Pulse, the remake of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's 2001 apocalyptic masterpiece, back before the cameras next week for reshoots.
No word yet on changes, but sources tell us to expect a more "audience friendly" ending as opposed to the original’s uber-bleak capper. It’s a shame the Weinsteins are so concerned with remaking art house films for the masses instead of releasing a guaranteed crowd-pleaser like Feast, which continues to gather dust in their vaults. The remake of Pulse is set to hit theaters this July.
