Brian Yuzna launches new company and re-animates Re-Animator

Fangoria reports that the previously announced White House-set sequel, House of Re-Animator, will reteam the original’s Brian Yuzna, Stuart Gordon, scripter Dennis Paoli and stars Jeffrey Combs and Bruce Abbott. “We want to cast big on this one. If we get the budget, we want to have great supporting actors. Stuart is going to talk with William H. Macy, who just did 'Edmond' for him, to play the President of the United States.” The big news though is that 'House' would be followed by two additional 'Re-Animator' sequels to form a new trilogy.

But there's more.

Since his Fantastic Factory shingle with Spain’s Filmax has shuttered, producer/director Brian Yuzna has partnered with producers/sales agents Ray Haboush and Ted Chalmers to launch a sales and production company called Halcyon International Pictures to produce a new slate of genre films. Halcyon will debut their fan-friendly projects at the Cannes Film Market from May 17-27. The ambitious lineup includes:

SPRAWL: GRIZZLY lives in this proposed 2007 feature, which Yuzna will direct. In the story, a pack of rabid grizzly bears terrorize a suburban community that is encroaching upon the wilderness.

EVERDARK: Yuzna will produce and co-write this true-story-based feature about a poltergeist that haunts and terrorizes a family and the town they live in.

You can find out more about other already completed Halcyon productions (Doomed, Darkworld, Virago and Battlespace) at the company’s website.
