Hollow Man 2: Hollower!
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment' Hollow Man 2, directed by Claudio Fäh, is now THIS close to hit stores - and you can check the trailer here, to see if it's really worthy of a rental (well, at least *I* chuckled when I´ve read the tagline: "There's More To Terror Than Meets The Eye". Transformers anyone?).
This non-sequel (it's not related to Verhoeven´s original, save for the title) stars Christian Slater as a volunteer soldier/assassin named Michael Griffin (wink wink nudge nudge, readers of the H. G. Wells original novel), who goes mad after he turns invisible.
Well, in fact becoming invisible isn´t THAT bad, if you think about it. Problem is, Griffin can´t revert back to visibility, and worse: he's going to die sooner or later because of some ill side-effect of the experiment that turned him into the Hollow Man... two! (Actually, there's a spin on this "second hollow man" thing that I won´t tell you, to avoid spoiling some surprises; by all means, DON´T GO TO THE OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE, cause they spill it out!).
Facing his demise, Griffin searches for a life-saving serum known as "The Buffer". He hunts down Maggie Dalton, the biologist involved in his transformation (played by My Little Eye's eye candy Laura Regan), the detective assigned to protect her, Frank Turner (Peter Facinelli), the evil government forces that created him, and even another invisible man to kick his invisible arse.
For an advance (but not very flattening) review, go to the excellent Terror Hook website.
The disc will be available to own from the 23rd May, and should retail at around $24.96. As well as an anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the disc will include deleted scenes, "Inside Hollow Man 2" featurette, Visual Effects featurette, storyboard gallery, storyboard comparisons... and "more".
