Freddie died. But then he got better. And younger.

Pit of Horror were very lucky and managed to get moment of Robert Englund's time to ask him about everything that he has been doing lately. Some of the most interesting tid bits came from his film Killer Pad and a rumoured Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel.

Englund has foreclosed that his film will be a melding of horror and comedy. The sad part of it all is that they are shooting for a PG-13 rating. Here is a little bit of what he had to say about how Killer Pad is doing.

"We are talking to stars for cameos and were refining the script. We have some music from Master P who’s got a great mix, and we are assembling all of the crew. We have a great DP David Stump, and of course Robert Hall who is holding my hand through all of this. It looks like we are going to have a lot of fun with this. It also looks like we are going to have a new hybrid with this. We are not making fun of horror movies--it’s really a comedy first. It’s really a comedy in a horror setting, certainly a satanic setting. It’s going to be a lot of fun."

He also revealed some details about what is happening with the Nightmare on Elm Street prequel. "New Line is commissioned to do another one. I will tell you that John (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) McNaughton is tapped to direct. I think it should go the "CSI" route and be sort of like a docu-drama that shows his crimes against the children. Then you cast two of the greatest character actors you can find to play the lawyers that get him off. Then of course it leads up to Freddy being burned alive."

Well some good things and some bad things have come out in this interview. We are getting what sounds like a great Nightmare on Elm Street prequel but we are going to get a PG-13, Master P soundtrack, film from Robert Englund. Not what I would expect from the man that has been the cornerstone of horror for a very long time.
