CRAIG: A little loneliness can be hazardous...

Craig is a pathethic schlob whom we first encounter in a police station, questioned about the fire we saw during the opening credits. Turns out the fire in his house killed both of his parents and a sister. He’s mad at the investigators for inquiring into his whereabouts, and just plain storms out of their office. The police is too sensitive about his personal loss to insist on the procedure, so they let him go. “We always know where to find him”, they reason.

We learn that Craig has some psychological problems. He goes to a psychologist and tries to tell her about it, but she cuts him in mid-sentence. He pays a hooker. Hell, even the neighbor’s 6-year old son shows him the middle finger. Nobody likes Craig, for some reason. So he does the most natural thing: he throws out the hooker, naked (followed by her clothes), only to run after her and kill her in a dark alley.

Her dead body attracts the police. The same two guys from the beginning. It seems that they are the only defense against chaos and anarchy in the entire city. And they don’t even look particularly competent. That’s what enables Craig to kill several more people before they even begin to suspect him.

Onar Films releases another Turkish Horror Classic!

As usual, Greek company Onar Films saves us from the boredom of Hollywood Hype Horror (The Reaping, anyone?) by releasing more turkish delights. And this time is 1995's Karanlik Sular (a.k.a. The Serpent's Tale, not to be confused with the Dark Waters remake, released in Turkey as Karanlik Su), a Temasa Film production directed by E. Kutlug Ataman.

Unique in many ways, and considered the best Turkish horror film by international reviewers, Karanlik Sular knows how to create an eerie and uncanny atmosphere where reason gives way to hallucination, poetry can turn into nightmare, and vice versa. In fact, it's a heady, twisting art-horror hybrid that takes as its theme nothing less than the meaning of life and death. Yes - it's like the Turkish version of the fabulous russian movie Viy!

The plot includes a woman whose son may be a vampire, an apocalyptic mystical scroll that belongs to a man who apparently died two years ago, an ancient Byzantine princess in the form of an 8-year-old vampire, ominous sects, a misty and metaphysical Istanbul... Well, it's better watched than talked about, but when watched it must be talked about!

Extras? Yes, sir. We have a long video interview with director Ataman, who discusses his influences both from Turkish history and European art cinema. He also claims not to care much for Turkish Fantastic Cinema, but does like Troma films! There's also still galleries, cast and crew bios and filmographies, and the usual bunch of Onar's highly amusing trailers.

Run, cause this turkish delight is limited to the usual 1.200 hand-numbered copies. And keep an eye peeled for their next releases, TARZAN ISTANBUL'DA and CASUS KIRAN.

Anchor Bay/Starz Blu-Ray titles

Starz Home Entertainment/Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the first season of Masters Of Horror on Blu-Ray Disc in September. The release will consist of four BD-50 discs containing all the 15 season 1 episodes in 1080p high definition video. Currently plans are to provide uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio tracks with the release but that may change, depending on the storage availability on the final discs. The set will also contain some – though not all – of the bonus materials found on the individual DVD releases of the episodes.

In addition to “Masters Of Horror” there will be other Blu-Ray titles from Anchor Bay scheduled for Halloween: John Carpenter’s Halloween, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead II and George A. Romero’s Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead, to be released on Blu-Ray some time in September or early October.

Anchor Bay Entertainment has not yet announced full details and specs on these releases but from what we've been hearing, expect DVD extras to carry over as well as uncompressed audio tracks on these movies. Since anchor Bay is well known for giving fans a treat, I think it is a safe best that these Blu-Ray Discs won't disappoint either. Stay tuned for more details.

Bill Tuttle has died.

William J. Tuttle, who as head of the makeup department at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios enhanced the looks of some of Hollywood's most beautiful people and helped design the creepy, human-devouring Morlocks in "The Time Machine," died July 27 at his home in Pacific Palisades, Calif. He was 95. No cause of death was reported.

Mr. Tuttle's career encompassed more than 300 films, as well as the transition from black and white to Technicolor, a development he called murder, because the intense light needed for the process could melt layers of makeup. As a young man, he worked on the early Technicolor classic "The Wizard of Oz" (1939) with Judy Garland.

He was MGM's makeup chief from 1950 to 1970. For his work on "7 Faces of Dr. Lao" (1964), starring Tony Randall as a cunning Chinese medicine show impresario with many identities, he was the first in his profession to win an Academy Award. An Oscar category recognizing makeup skill did not begin on a regular basis until 1981. After leaving MGM, he became a freelance makeup artist, working on such features as Mel Brooks's "Young Frankenstein" (1974).

Mr. Tuttle spent 15 years as assistant to the head of MGM's makeup department during the heyday of the studio system. Plucking, dabbing, swabbing, he fiddled with the faces of MGM's biggest stars, including Katharine Hepburn, Greer Garson, Jeanette MacDonald, June Allyson, and Donna Reed, to whom he was briefly married in the early 1940s. Reed said at the time: "The first day I went to the studio, they sent me to the makeup department, and a makeup man named Bill Tuttle looked me over. He shook his head, mumbled something about what will they dig up next, and then went to work on me. He changed my eyebrows, shaded my chin, and made my mouth bigger. He made me very mad. Then he looked at me again and said: 'Now you'll do. Except you should change something else.' When I asked him what, he said, 'Your name. It should be Mrs. William Tuttle.' "

Dark Horse Is Getting Creepy... and Eerie

The magazines that gave a whole generation the shivers are back. Creepy and Eerie were the definitive horror and sci-fi comics of the 1960s and flourished up until the early 1980s. Dark Horse Comics has entered into an agreement with New Comic Company to create archive editions of this classic material, as well as launch new Creepy and Eerie comics for modern horror fans. The licensing deal will encompass publishing, select film and TV development, and merchandising. Many of today’s brightest stars will lend their talents to the venture, including horror legend Bernie Wrightson (City of Others) and modern master Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre).

Creepy is best remembered for its classic horror and was hosted by Uncle Creepy, while Eerie often ventured into science fiction and featured Cousin Eerie as its host. The rest of the gang includes Hunter, Child, El Cid, Marvin the Dead Thing, and the newly developed Creepy Family. The magazines, originally published by Jim Warren are remembered as presenting some of the era’s greatest genre comics work.

“Both Creepy and Eerie are fondly remembered by comics fans as representing the best of science fiction and horror, and Dark Horse is proud and excited to relaunch these classic titles,” said Dark Horse publisher Mike Richardson.

“Mike Richardson and Dark Horse have an impressive and deep understanding of what it will take to help us correctly re-launch Creepy and Eerie. It’s a great fit for our brands,” said New Comic executive and Submarine Entertainment Co-President Dan Braun, who negotiated the deal in cooperation with CAA—who represents both New Comic and Dark Horse. Deals in TV and Film are expected to be announced shortly.

New Comic Company acquired all rights in all media to the Creepy and Eerie comic book series earlier this year and was formed by New York based Submarine Entertainment and Los Angeles based Grand Canal Film Works.

New efforts are expected to debut this fall with the classic tales being prepared for the hardcover Dark Horse Archive series.

New Comic and Grand Canal Film Works executive Craig Haffner added, “The depth of this library across the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres makes it truly tantalizing for a multitude of different platforms. Our association with Dark Horse will take us one step closer to realizing our goal of returning the Creepy and Eerie brands to their former stature and beyond.”

Dark Horse has set a tentative release date for the comics in early 2008.

Nick Palumbo's CORPSE - Redefining the zombie genre

Internet innovator Stephan Miller's Gunslinger Media and infamous Hollywood writer-director-producer Nick Palumbo's Fright Flix Productions announced a partnership to produce the highly controversial five million dollar horror film Corpse. Expected to receive an NC-17 for its extreme content, Corpse will be Palumbo's first new film since his horrific NC-17 feature Murder-Set-Pieces began shocking audiences three years ago. The maverick filmmaker describes the new multi-million dollar project as "a personal vision of the apocalypse. Just as 'Murder-Set-Pieces' took the slasher genre in new directions, 'Corpse' redefines the zombie film."

Palumbo is excited to have partnered with someone who shares both his vision and his approach to business. "I am very proud of my new partnership with Gunslinger Media. I have been looking for quite some time to find someone with the same sensibilities and work ethic. The Corpse diaries will begin September 1st, 2007, with filming scheduled to commence in early December, 2007. The film is slated for a 2008 release.

2007 AVN Award Winner Carmen Hart and former adult star Veronica Hart have recently completed production on the mainstream horror comedy One-Eyed Monster.

Described by writer/director Adam Fields as "a horror satire in the vein of the 'Scream' franchise," The One Eyed Monster" teams the beautiful Wicked Girl with an eclectic cast best known for their contributions to Joss Whedon's long-running hit TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. "The role was provocative, to be sure, but there was real acting required. I think certain people had the idea that 'porn stars can't act,' and I worked hard to dispel those notions. Some of them obviously weren't familiar with my work for Wicked, and didn't know that creating characters and delivering dialogue is something I'd already been doing for a long time. The director was very pleased with the results. In fact, it looks like the film will be going to Sundance, and I plan to be there to support it."

JESSICKA RABID also marks the first film appearance of Los Angeles' own Nekromistress, who is well known in the horror community. Elske and Matthew love her look and charisma and are surprised nobody has put her in a film! "I'm really excited to work alongside Elske!" Nekromistress writes. Most people seem to be in agreement that the past year has been an off one for the Korean film industry with proven directors turning in some significant box office disappointments and many companies seemingly content to simply ride the formulae of past successes. Next year looks to be shaping up better with significant projects from a number of major players but for the industry to turn we're going to need a shot of new blood as well.

One possibility is looking to be Epitaph, the new horror picture from the studio behind animated hit Aachi and Ssipak. The story itself - it's a multi-parted revolving around supernatural events in a hospital - doesn't appear to be anything groundbreaking but the first trailer has just hit and this thing is looking mighty nice. Which shouldn't be a surprise, really, considering the director cut his teeth working with Chan Wook Park ...

For fans of kooky and creative low budget movies, Joe Castro's Terror Toons 2 is a wild and crazy ride! The fun begins with little Tiffany Saunders, who is having her twelfth birthday party. Her friends and family arrive to stuff their faces with cake and watch her open presents.

Meanwhile, in cartoon land, Hansel and Gretel decide to play in the woods against their mother’s warnings. They come upon a house made of candy, end up stuffing their faces and puking, and are forced to go inside to find help. Instead, they find a witch (played by Brinke Stevens in a delightful cameo) who wants to eat their tender flesh to the bone. When she gives them poison and a rat to “make them feel better,” they mistakenly mutate into Terror Toons!

Back at the Saunders, Tiffany receives a Terror Toons DVD (Devil Video Disc) in the mail with no return address. She puts it on and soon all hell breaks loose! The house and its inhabitants are in a strange hellish cartoon dimension and are forced to play deadly games like “musical scares” with Hansel and Gretel. One by one, the party guests start dying gruesome deaths by electrocution, by a giant Acme-type mallet, by cooties, by tickling, by “playing doctor” and so on. It’s up to Tiffany’s older sister Tina, her boyfriend and his two friends to stop the Terror Toons, which means going into Hell itself to chat with the son of Satan and take on superhero personas to kick ass!

A woman is suffering a youth trauma and is haunted by the nightmare of her past. The only remaining master was found in good condition so the picture is not great but good enough for a Turkish 70’s film.

Following the book’s release yesterday, Dark Horse will be going back to print on the much anticipated first issue of Buffy: Season 8. Since the book was announced last summer, Dark Horse has garnered a great deal of attention both in and outside of the comic market. With high profile press coverage, buzz among fans, and excitement from direct market retailers, orders exceeded the initial printing of over 100,000 copies!

EBOLA SYNDROME: ANOTHER GORY SERVING FROM DISCOTEK MEDIA

Some movies are just plain offensive, made to offend people who like to be offended, like me. I always say if the flicko is sicko, then it must be a good one. Director Herman Yau and lead actor Anthony Wong collaborate again to give us Ebola Syndrome; a sleazy, queasy movie full of blatantly sick and disgusting moments of bloody humour, violence, and depraved sadism from start to finish. It's not any particular scene that launches Ebola Syndrome into the disgusto category; it's the entire damn film.

It's about a dude called Kai, who seems to have almost a zero tolerance for bullying and loses the plot when he is verbally or physically abused. In the opening scene we see Kai going hard with the bosses wife when his boss comes home with an employee and busts them. This would naturally evoke a violent reaction in anyone who comes home to see his or her partner playing nudie twister with someone that you employ. Kai's boss does what anyone would naturally do, and that is kick the shit out of him. Now Kai just can't accept the punishment being dished and it is not long before Kai "Stop bullying me!" just plain loses it and kills almost everyone in the room. After the dispatching of all parties involved Kai pauses for a moment and flicks his long blood-drenched hair out of his face with his bloody knife and then proceeds to go after the last surviving person, the boss's young daughter who is cowering in the corner.

Before Kai can kill the last surviving witness to his little outburst he is interrupted and has to flee. With a murder warrant out on him in Hong Kong, Kai flees the country and before you can say "Interpol" we jump to several years later to find Kai working as a kitchen hand for a Chinese restaurant in sunny Johannesburg in South Africa. Even here he cannot escape the so-called "bullying" that blows his top. The restaurant owner's wife hates his guts and she never shies away from telling Kai as well as everyone else. The restaurant owner is aware of Kai's past and the outstanding warrant for his arrest back in Hong Kong, but he would never find a replacement kitchen hand who would work for peanuts like Kai.

One day the boss and Kai go out to buy some pigs from an African Tribe. On the way home the truck breaks down so while his boss repairs the truck Kai goes off for a little stroll. He finds an African female lying on the ground near a riverside quite unwell and incapacitated and decides that this is his perfect opportunity to get laid. Despite the girl looking like she's about to bite the bullet any second Kai rapes her and then heads back to the truck. Later on when Kai and his Boss get back to town, Kai develops a fever. The Bosses wife tells Kai off for being sick and wishes he would just die (she's really a lovely girl). The boss arranges for a Doctor visit; after all cheap but good labour is hard to get. The Doc tells them that Kai has the Ebola virus, but he is not going to die. Doc informs Kai that one in ten million people are unaffected by the Ebola virus and become carriers and that Kai is one of those, er lucky people?

Later on Kai gets a bit fucked off for being bullied by the bosses wife whilst being sick so he has another one of his "Stop bullying me!" temper tantrums and kills her and his boss. Kai then gets motivated in the kitchen and whips up some creative and innovative new dishes to add to the menu like Spaghetti Ebolanais or Pea and Ebola soup, tossed salad with spit dressing, and is that frosted icing I see? Now we're cooking with gas! Kai kills off his customers with his innovative and fatal menu, making sure the guests don't come back for seconds.

Anthony Wong is superb as Kai making this one of the sleaziest characters that has ever graced celluloid. I can't help but love to hate this dude. Other than our leading man Kai, there are really no other interesting characters in the film with the exception of the surviving female child from the opening scene all grown up. She's spotted Kai and endeavours to find justice for the murder of her parents. The character comes off as annoying and distracts from the rest of the story, but no matter, Anthony Wong playing the part of Kai is all you are going to need. Anthony Wong takes the weight of the whole film on his shoulders efficiently and to strong effect. There is a little nudity throughout but none of it is titillating in any way so there is nothing here to get your jollies from. The nudie scenes are designed to keep your hand off your pecker and eject eyeballs out of sockets. Ebola Syndrome has more bodily fluids flying from all corners of the screen than all the Toxic Avenger movies combined and then some. I'm talking about every bodily fluid that you can think of or imagine and why not; the Ebola virus spreads very effectively this way so why not travel down the Ebola highway. Vile, sleazy, sadistic, cruel and bloody depraved about sums up Ebola Syndrome quite nicely I should think.

EAT YOUR EYE OUT WITH THE BEST JAPANESE GORE!

A young scientist named Eiji (Sadao Abe, Uzumaki) sets out to help humanity by developing the ultimate painkiller. To evaluate it, he secretly adds his drug to a contraceptive that his mother has been testing at a local clinic. Her studies involve three young and attractive women. Of these women, one loves to eat, one is obsessively narcissistic, while the third has one serious case of insomnia. Eiji begins following the three unsuspecting guinea pigs to observe their reaction to his new creation, secretly videotaping them and recording the results. His experiment spirals out of control when the women discover that pain now gives them a deeply sensual pleasure. The more horrible acts of self-mutilation they commit, the better it feels!

This is not a movie for everyone, not only because of the extreme gore FX, but also because of the deep message underlying the story which is far from conventional. Don't be fooled by the DVD artwork, that looks like an ad for a campy and cheap film, even though the film is indeed "cheap" in the sense of the financial limitations of a "pink" japanese production. However, as proven by so many Hollywood disappointments, money is not the ingredient for an interesting and thought provoking film, which Naked Blood surely is.

Perhaps it is the lack of financial compromise which allows director Sato (like other japanese directors, especially "pink" directors) to present such a complex story (which seems like a simple one, but really isn't), filled with allegories, metaphors, and bizarre but beautiful images which are extreme indeed, but instrumental in the shock to the viewer sought after by the director. I believe that the essence of art is to leave a mark on those contemplating; any kind of mark, not only a pleasant or nice one, and this film really achieves that, by leaving a distinctive impression on the viewer, comparable perhaps to that of "Irreversible" or "Tetsuo", and even that of "Un chien andalou", the Bunuel masterpiece, which also sought to shock and unsettle the spectator. In that sense, Naked Blood is, in its very unusual and bizarre way, a masterpiece.

At Fangocon in San Jose, Jeffrey Combs announced that the "House of Re-Animator" sequel is "asleep" because of the coming end of the Bush presidency.

"A year ago I would have told you that looks like that's happening," he said. "At this time I'd say maybe the air has gone out of that. ... That's sleeping right now. I don't imagine that will wake up. The problem is the script we wanted to do is very topical."

Adaptation of Alten's 'Meg' stalls at New Line

As a pitch, the concept of "Jaws" meets "Jurassic Park" seemed like a no-brainer. But nine years after "Meg," Steve Alten's tale of an 80-foot-long prehistoric shark, hit Hollywood, the project looks less like Jurassic Shark and more like the fish that got away.

While Alten has already published two book sequels, the original film property has languished, first at Disney and more recently at New Line. Like many would-be tentpoles, the pic fell victim to escalating costs as well as New Line's focus on other pricey pics.

New Line picked up the rights last year and put the pic on the fast track for a 2006 release. At the time, it was hoping to make "Meg" for $75 million, with a significant chunk financed by selling off foreign distribution rights. But when the estimated budget came in much higher -- some put the figure at $150 million, mostly due to costly f/x -- New Line began scaling back. According to an outsider who's seen the script, the CGI work for "Meg" would itself cost $40 million to $70 million. Aside from aquatic challenges (CGI waves, thousands of species of fish), the giant shark attacks ships and a helicopter.

Now, the pic is looking to shoot this spring for a summer 2008 release, at the earliest. Helmer Jan De Bont, who was attached to the project when it moved to New Line, notes the studio is in production on a trio of costly films -- "Inkheart," "Rush Hour 3" and "The Golden Compass" -- so it's understandably cautious about greenlighting another tentpole. "But," he says, "I have no doubt Meg will swim."

Alten, too, is playing the waiting game. He says he won't begin "Meg 4: Hell's Aquarium" until the pic is greenlit. "I need the movie to generate publicity for that book," he says.

Gravedancers is out on DVD... in Holland!

It comes in a nice looking tin and SUPPOSEDLY has a bunch of nice extras. Hmmmm.... nope. The "2-disc Special Edition" moniker is highly deceiving. It's 2 discs, right, but it has no special features, just the 4:3 version of the flick on one disc and a 16x9 on the other. The American one, that Lions Gate will release by March, will have lots of cool stuff on it.

Gravedancers is Mike Mendez biggest film to date, budget-vise, and revolves around Harris, Kira, and Sid, college friends who reunite for the funeral of their good friend Devin.

A night of drinking ultimately leads to a trip to the cemetery, where the trio bids a final goodbye to Devin before finding a strange card on a gravestone. Written on the card is a song, which the three drunken friends sing while dancing on the nearby graves.

Little do they know that the song is actually an ancient curse, and that by invoking it they've condemned one another to a month of haunting, the final outcome of which could very well be death.

Eventually it is revealed that the ancient curse woke three psychopaths from their eternal slumber, and that these three ghosts will stop at nothing to take Harris, Kira, and Sid back to the other side with them.

The two investigators try to help Harris, Kira, Sid, and Harris' wife Allison thwart the ghosts and survive. The question is: Will they make it?

Well, what the fuck is Fondlecorpse? The project has been around since 1996. At that time The Goregnome was drawing some sick perverted shit, he drew a picture and thought: FONDLECORPSE! Now this would be a great name for a band... for a totally disgusting deathgoregrind band!

Now you will say "why isn’t there still any material recorded?". To make a long story short, lots of line ups, some even came close to recording, but in the end it always fell thru because people left fucked up, got kicked out, etc etc. In ‘99 it seemed we would be hitting the studio, and yup, bye bye drummer. And the torment continued.

Now 2002 we are back with a line-up that wants to play brutal shit, no compromise! We create utter brutality. Our drums are played by our extraterestial fiend Krite, who craves human meat for payment, so we feed him old bandmembers and nasty posers to keep him satisfied and have him drum on his intergalactic blastbeat drumkit.

The exhumed corpse was back in full force as the zombified remains recorded a split 7" with Inkblack... this fucker is sold out now, the second release was the Limbless 7" record with 6 new songs... did the hive compilation and re-released both ep's on cd... and now working on our first full album for Razorback records and a split with Frightmare!

JUST BEFORE DAWN MEETS THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE WITH A SLICE OF FRIDAY THE 13TH ON THE MUST-SEE BRITISH HORROR OF THE YEAR!

The Summer of the Massacre is the terrifying tale of the demented Hammerhead, a man-eating maniac that resides in the Blackwood Forest.

A group of four carefree college students head home for the holiday season. The group consisted of pregnant student- Katie (Jeannette James - BBC Ones City Law), hung over joker – Josh (Ben O’Brian – ITV 3’s Grease Monkeys), Posh bird - Judy (Emma Horsley) and Curt (Jake Wlykie), who hit the road with a map printed from the internet. Hey, who needs to buy an A to Z map when cyberspace is so easy to handle.

Early into their journey the group notice that their running low on petrol so they decide, after a heated debate, to take a short cut through Blackwood. They stumble upon the petrol station and discover it has long been closed and receive a few warnings from an old tramp who leaps out upon them. He pleads them to turn back as the area is cursed and that deranged murderer known as Hammerhead will slaughter them one by one. Fearing for their lives the four friends make a quick getaway but run into even more problems when their van breaks down. Stranded in the middle of Blackwood Forest the group decide to trek across the dense woodland in the vein hope they’ll be saved. With no signal available for mobile phones and not a home in sight the group find them battling the elements as well as each other tempers become frayed.

All four friends decide that Jake and Judy should go and look for help while pregnant Katie and Josh should stay at the van, just in case help comes by.

After a few beers and a couple of scares Josh heads off into the forest to relieve his bladder unaware of an ominous lurking presence. Hammerhead approaches and takes out an unaware Josh binding him in cling film to keep him fresh while he heads back to the slaughter-house to collect some sacks to carry the body parts.

Katie starts to worry and heads to look for Josh only to be attacked, nailed to a tree and then strung up by Hammerhead...

Judy and Jake eventually return to the van after having no luck with finding help. To their horror they discover Hammerhead trashing the van. Both teenagers make a run for it with Hammerhead in hot pursuit behind them. Without any problems he slaughters both teenagers leaving only a pregnant female alive to face the viper- alone.

Katie escapes deep into the Blackwood Forest and the crazed mutant Hammerhead is soon on her tail with his insatiable bloodlust and trademark hammer. The only way Katie will survive this ordeal is to turn the tables and revert to her own primitive instincts and this means a lethal duel that ensures only one will survive…

Argento begins filming THE THIRD MOTHER

Dario Argento, with his daughter Asia, started in November the shooting in Rome, Turin and Terni of his film "THE THIRD MOTHER" (The Mother of Tears) who will conclude the trilogy dedicated to the witches begun with Suspiria (1977) and Inferno (1979).

The film centers on a young American art student, Sarah (Asia), who "unwittingly opens an ancient urn that unleashes the demonic power of the world's most powerful witch. As a scourge of suicides plague the city and witches from all over the world converge on Rome to pay homage, Sarah must use all her own psychic powers to stop the 'Mother of Tears' before her evil conquers the world."

The film was written by Dario Argento, Jace Anderson, Adam Gierasch, Walter Fasano and Simona Simonetti, produced by Dario and Claudio Argento for Opera Film and distributed by Medusa Film.

In the cast there will also be Daria Nicolodi, Udo Kier, Jessica Harper, Philippe Leroy, Clive Riche and Coralina Cataldi Tassoni. The shooting will finish at the end of December and the film distribution is planned for April 2007. The music score will be composed by Claudio Simonetti.

Meet The Monster of Phantom Lake

To understand "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and its reason for being, you must first attempt to understand my late father, George Mihm.

My father would tell these great stories of spending cold, small-town Minnesota winters in the relative warmth of his local movie house, taking in double features of trashy, B-grade science fiction and horror flicks. For a quarter he'd see double bills with such classics as "Village of the Damned" ("The eyes..." he'd tell me.) and "Them!". ("Giant ants!" he would exclaim.) When I was a kid, my dad would rent these movies repeatedly. We would frequently watch them together although, at the time, I could never quite figure out just what it was my dad saw in these (often) low-grade, barely frightening (by my standards) films.

At age 51, in the year 2000, my father died of stomach cancer. Since then, I've revisited many of these old movies and realized, they're just not the same without him there. I miss the stories... like the one about the time he went to the movies against his mother's wishes, saw something so scary he couldn't sleep for a week AND got in trouble for it!

Fellow producer and actor Josh Craig and I have been friends for many years. We've been discussing making our own movie as long as we've known each other. Seeing those old movies again and enjoying their often poorly written dialogue, barely passable camera work and marginal special effects, I started to wonder: "What would happen if Josh and I stopped talking about it and actually made a movie? And not just ANY movie but THIS kind of movie, one that a ten year old version of my dad would approve of?"

That thought soon took over and my obsession began. I parked myself in front of my laptop and "The Monster of Phantom Lake" was born. Soon we were holding auditions and then amazingly, we were shooting! Filmed in glorious black and white, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" was completed in September 2005. The film was accepted and screened at the Faux Film Festival in Portland, Oregon and the 3rd Annual Flint Film Festival in Flint, Michigan. It was recently accepted to the Twin Cities Underground Film Festival and has played to near sold-out audiences at recent local screenings.

SYNOPSIS

A shell-shocked ex-soldier transformed by Atomic Waste into a revolting monster wreaks havoc at a high-school graduation party in writer/producer/director Christopher R. Mihm's monochromatic tribute to the B-movie flicks of the 1950s. The summer sun is shining and a group of recently graduated teens has taken to the outdoors to celebrate their newfound freedom. Something horrific is afoot in Phantom Lake, though, and as the rampaging beast makes his presence known to the horrified teens, a dedicated scientist and his beautiful graduate student soon realize that they may have just stumbled upon one of the most important scientific discoveries of their lifetime.

Betsy Palmer

Direct from Chicago's DePaul University, Betsy Palmer underwent intensive training at New York's Actors Studio, supporting herself as a secretary. She made her professional bow in stock in Wisconsin and Illinois in 1950; one year later, she made the first of hundreds of TV appearances. In 1955, Palmer first appeared on Broadway in The Grand Prize, and that same year launched her sporadic film career. Later stage credits included Forty Carats, in which she successfully replaced Lauren Bacall, and extensive touring in the role of Nellie Forbush in South Pacific. To millions of baby-boomers, Palmer will forever be associated with her work as a panelist on such TV game shows as I've Got a Secret; a later generation of televiewers will most readily recall her as Virginia Bullock on the 1989-90 season of Knot's Landing. To those whose teen years coincided with the late 1970s and early 1980s, however, Betsy Palmer is known only as the vicious, vengeful, ax-wielding Mrs. Voorhees (Jason's mom) in the first Friday the 13th (1980); reportedly, Palmer won that role because she was willing to drive her own car to and from location shoots.

Panik House Prepares More Pinky Violence.

About one month ago, Panik House's Head Honcho Matt Kennedy promised to announce something huge. Well the wait is over!

Panik House is entering into a production partnership with Synapse Films to release seven more films from the Toei vaults. Five proto-Pinky Violence films and two films of a new genre: Pinky Horror!

With the CasaNegra line in full swing and the Chained Heat films on the way, they needed to call in marines, so to speak, to handle the film transfers and over-all production on this latest crop of Pinky Violence titles, which have never before been released on DVD anywhere. And who better than Don May Jr. and Jerry Chandler from Synapse?

They've been looking for an excuse to work with Don on a project for about a decade (going back even before Matt's days at Blue Underground!) and these films have provided 'em with the perfect opportunity.

Which films you ask?

Let's start with the Pinky Horror titles first:

Edogawa Ranpo Zenshu: Kyofu Kikei Ningen; aka Horror Of The Malformed Men

This is the most notorious film in the history of Japanese cinema. It has been banned since it's release in 1969, and is the film that really cemented Teruo Ishii's reputation as a master in the art of transgressive filmmaking. All rhetoric aside, this is one of the true classics of the era.

Kaidan Hebi-onna; aka Snake Woman's Curse

This was the first of the Pinky Horror films released by Toei. It was helmed by master director Nobuo Nakagawa, who has been called the Japanese Hitchcock, and Akemi Negishi (Sex & Fury, Lady Snowblood) stars.

This brings us to the two series that served as the protypes of the Pinky Violence films and were the direct inspiration for Sex & Fury and just about every female protagonist film to follow. There's the three film Okatsu series, starring Junko Miyazuno, and the two Silver Butterfly films that launched icon of icons Meiko Kaji.

These films are beyond legendary, and have never been released on DVD. Some English titles may change by release date, but make no mistake that these films will be presented uncut in their original form - remastered for optimal viewing and listening enjoyment.

This particular crop of films has allowed Panik House to present two entire series (like they did with the two Inoshika Ocho films starring Reiko Ike), which was key in their decision to license them. Matt said: "I had chosen not to release the entire series of Girl Boss films because I felt that not all entries were as strong as Girl Boss Guerilla, but the two Butterfly films and the three Okatsu films are all really incredible movies, so it's not a case of licensing them just to release a whole series; these films rock!"

Additionally, these will not be issued as box sets, but instead as individual discs (possibly at the same time) affording the option of buying all at once or one at a time as your budget dictates.

THE SLAUGHTER - Old School Gore, just what we've been missing after all those years!

In an old school camp-o-rama bloodfest, Sundance filmmaker Jay Lee, slashes, drowns, spears, rips, squishes and burns people in The Slaughter. When six college students take a job cleaning up an abandoned house their plans to work hard by day and play hard by night are interrupted when they awake an ancient evil demon.

H. P. Lovecraft, George Romero and Sam Raimi just to name a few of their heroes that we pay homage to in their film. For die hard SERIOUS horror and Zombie fans, please don't be offended. They're just having a good time.

Their film just had it's world premier at Another Hole in the Head festival in San Francisco and took 3rd place with the audiences.

24framespersecond.com says, "Every once in a while you just have to have a good dose of B-Horror. Spotlight pictures latest offering The Slaughter fits the bill perfectly."

Timo Rose's BARRICADE: Unrelenting horror to make you soil your pants!

Barricade is an action-horror film that tells the tale of three friends whose weekend camping trip to The Black Forest of Germany becomes a thrilling quest for survival when they run afoul a grotesque family of murderous, cannibalistic mountain people. Ted Geoghegan, Chief Operating Officer of Starving Kappa Pictures, Ltd., said: "Barricade is an unrelenting, violent journey into depravity and I simply cannot picture anyone but Timo [Rose] handling the material. Based on a concept by Timo Rose, Barricade stars Raine Brown (Satan’s Playground), Joseph Zaso (Nikos), André Reissig (Lord of the Undead), Thomas Kercmar (Germaica - Ouzo, Stoff und Taschentücher), Manoush (Amelie), Andreas Pape (Das Unbezähmbare Herz), and Timo Rose, whose casting was previously announced.

Rosecalypse SFX is executing special effects make-up, gore, and digital effects under the direction of supervisor Timo Rose. Discotek excels on two Sogo Ishii DVDs: BURST CITY and ELECTRIC DRAGON 80,000 VOLTS

Sogo Ishii, with his mad mix of Godard sensibilities with the cyberpunk energy, has remained criminally ignored on R1 DVDs. So far, only his samurai epic Gojoe got a proper release... until now. Thanks to Discotek Media, now we can enjoy two of his best works.

Burst City (1982) was Ishii's first film with a budget, and it’s a bizarre amalgam of genres – part Mad Max, part Quadrophenia-like musical. In fact, many of the actors are actual members of real punk bands.

Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts (2001) is a recent effort. The plot, if there is one, revolves around the rivalry of two electrically attuned men, Thunderbolt Buddha (Masatoshi Nagase) and Dragon Eye Morrison (Tadanobu Asano). Electric Dragon is largely a free-form and an incredibly visually innovative film, truly like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

Discotek has created the definitive package for this film, packing the disc with extras and including a complete soundtrack CD performed by Asano himself (the distributor says that they were sadly unable to acquire the rights to the Burst City soundtrack).

Lionsgate gives us a longer punishment.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has sent more details regarding the upcoming The Punisher: Extended Cut. This extended version of the film - presented in anamorphic widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS-ES 6.1 Surround - will feature over 17 minutes of additional material worked back into the film. Bonus materials will include an audio commentary with director Jonathan Hensleigh, a making-of featurette, The Punisher Comic Book Gallery (featuring select past and present comic book covers), downloadable ringtones and digital comic books for cell phones.

Also included in the set is the never-before-seen "Animated Kuwait Deleted Scene." R.I.P. ghost hunter Ed Warren

Ed Warren, who along with his wife pursued the unusual career of ghost hunter and whose cases included what would become the basis for "The Amityville Horror," died Wednesday at his home in Monroe, Conn. He was 79.

In the last five years, poor health had kept him housebound. In March 2001, he got up during the night to let the cat in and collapsed on the floor. Paramedics restarted his heart, but he was in a coma for 11 weeks and never regained his speech.

Warren grew up in Bridgeport, Conn., in a house he thought was haunted. He firmly believed in ghosts, demons and other unworldly creatures — and in helping people deal with unwanted visitations. He would answer the phone at all hours to counsel panicked homeowners from across the country who couldn't find anyone else to advise them when they said their furniture started flying.

"Most people snicker," Tony Spera, the Warrens' son-in-law, told the Hartford Courant this week. "But if it happens to you and you know it is real, it is frightening."

Warren, who called himself a religious demonologist, is also survived by his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Judy Spera; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. During their 61-year marriage and partnership, the Warrens investigated more than 10,000 suspected hauntings in the U.S., Japan, Australia and Europe.

Although the Warrens didn't ask for compensation for their ghost busting, they made a living on the college lecture circuit talking about the supernatural and paranormal activity. The subject of their most famous investigation — and most requested lecture — was the reported psychic disturbances at a house in Amityville, N.Y., where a family was brutally murdered in 1974.

The story became the basis for Jay Anson's 1977 book "The Amityville Horror" as well as the 1979 film of the same name. The Warrens were consultants for the 1982 film "Amityville II: The Possession." Steven Novella, a Yale neurologist involved with the New England Skeptical Society, disputed the Warrens' claims about haunted events that followed the real murders at the Long Island house.

"The people who lived in the house, and their lawyer, all admitted that it was an elaborate hoax, but to this day Ed Warren believes it was a legitimate haunting," Novella said in 1999. That same year Warren said, "If anyone can prove it was a hoax, I will give them $3,000. No one has been able to disprove the story."

Big news for you Dust Devil fans out there.

Wendy leaves her husband, taking off into the voids of Africa. She picks up a hitchhiker, a traveling serial killer who snaps photos of his victims before killing them. Wendy does not realize the danger she is in until a police detective arrives to warn her that her "companion" is something much worse than just a killer-he is a shape-shifting demon who steals his victims' souls. Soon both the officer and Wendy become the next intended victims of the Dust Devil.

Subversive Cinema's upcoming September release of DUST DEVIL: The Final Cut is shaping up to be a FOUR-DISC boxed set, and will include a brand new HI DEF 16:9 widescreen transfer of the complete film. GOBLIN IS BACK!

Actually this is old news, since they returned last year (minus Claudio Simonetti, who keeps going with the excellent band Daemonia), but there's always the last to know, so here it is: GOBLIN IS BACK! And they have a new CD, Back to the Goblin, available EXCLUSIVELY thru their official website, www.goblinhome.com.

The idea behind the CD came from Massimo Morante and Fabio Pignatelli, with the intention to develop some tracks based on original ideas. Thus were born songs like "Bass Theme In E-", "Lost in the Universe", "Thriller" and "Hitches".

The duo soon contacted drummer Agostino Marangolo and keyboardist Maurizio Guarini, currently living in Canada, to re-join them in the project. So, in 2005, 30 years after the very first line-up, Pignatelli, Morante, Guarini and Marangolo were officially Back to the Goblin.

THE ORIGINAL TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE FINALLY GETS A DECENT DVD EDITION!

On September 26th, the genre classic THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE and Hooper's follow-up, EATEN ALIVE, will both see new 16x9 special editions. Pioneer's previous special edition release of MASSACRE, which was marred by an improper, non-anamorphic laserdisc transfer and compression artifacts from cramming the film and its supplements on a single layer DVD, was released all the way back in 1998. EATEN ALIVE has probably fared worse, since Elite's release of the film in 2001, also non-anamorphic, was sorely lacking extras.

Talks of a special edition for TEXAS CHAIN SAW have been long coming, ever since Don May announced that he was supervising a new HD transfer of the film a few years ago. It had been pretty quiet since then, but finally all the release details and artwork for the two films have been revealed. Here is what we're looking at:

ABBATOIR productions wraps.

Happy Cloud Pictures is pleased to announce that principal photography has been completed on their latest production, Abattoir.

"We have two days of pickups," says producer/"Directrix" Amy Lynn Best. "We shot in a beautiful Victorian house owned by our star, Stacy Bartlebaugh-Gmys, and her husband [and actor] Ron. We didn't want to spray blood all over the place, so we have a 'blood day' coming up next month. Don Bumgarner and Carlos Savant, our f/x guys, have free reign to go nuts."

Written and directed by Mike Watt (Dead Men Walking, The Resurrection Game), Abattoir tells the story about the end of a long-held truce between a brothel run by vampires and a group of Irish mercenaries. "Blood is spilled," Watt says.

"We tried to play around with vampire mythology a little bit," he continues. "We didn't diverge too much. We kept the teeth, of course. And the blood drinking. Our vampires are pretty cannibalistic-they gnaw down to the bone. And they play with their food! But they also cast shadows and reflections-this is more for practical filmic reasons than anything else."

"And we also got rid of the whole crucifix dilemma. We live in a global society. Christianity isn't the prevailing religion any more. So we had to figure out other things that connect humans and vampires, and what we can use to ward the creatures off. We had some fun with that concept."

"There's a sexiness that's new to Happy Cloud Pictures with Abattoir as well," says Best. "And I'm not just talking about nudity. We have beautiful women of all types playing our vampires."

Abattoir stars Best, Bartlebaugh-Gmys, Aaron Bernard, Steve Foland (Project: Valkyrie), Alyssa Herron (Severe Injuries), Sofiya Smirnova, Bill Homan (The Resurrection Game), Zoe Hunter (Witchcraft XIII), Megan Ruggiero and Rachelle Williams (The Take-Away Spirit). The original soundtrack will be composed by Scooter McCrae (16 Tongues) and boasts an opening song performed by Lorraine 'a Malena written by Neil Gaiman (Mirrormask). As many of you know by now, I'm no longer associated with The Horror Channel. Along with me they've locked out the entire web team. And why?

Well, there's a lot behind that story. Apparently they've decided to abandon all hope of getting a terrestrial channel on the air in favor of a web channel. That's what some of us have been told, but they haven't gone public with that statement yet. Sorry to spoil your "big announcement," guys. That is not what we all signed on for. That is not what the fans have been promised. I see now they're trying to back peddle on that. We shall see. They have to try to save face, ya know?

Secondly, the guy in command, Nick Psaltos, has made it a habit of berating the team with comments like "your opinions are meaningless" and "your tenure in the company affords you no clout." He's even gone so far as to hand down mantras that we are to recite each day to help "improve our reading comprehension skills" as a means to become better writers. We were even asked not to link to other sites such as Fango and Bloody-Disgusting even if we were reporting on their headlines. There's no integrity in doing that. We said no.

On their forums they've offered up the explanation that we've been misrepresenting the company. How? By sticking to our guns about it being for the fans?

As a result, the next step has been taken by the new regime. We are now locked out of the website. The website we built. The website you loved.

So what's next? We WILL NOT be stopped. We WILL NOT go quietly. We made horror history by becoming one of the biggest and most well respected horror sites out there in just a few short months. That is because of you, the fans. You guys are The Horror Channel. Now the entire team is walking from top to bottom. We will not sell out. We never would. What you're seeing now is not history, it's evolution.

Coming very soon you will see the Dawn of the Dread, the rebirth of DreadCentral.com. Keep your eyes peeled for more.

On a personal note: I just wanted to thank you all for the support you've given us over the last few years. You mean the world to us, and as a result we're gonna keep at it with every fiber of our being.

Claudio Simonetti and Coralina Cataldi Tassoni Live on Full Moon Mayhem Radio!

Radio Mayhem with Cinema Nocturna proudly presents their live interviews on Thursday June 15th.

The show will start at 10pm EST, Claudio will be on in the second hour (11pm EST). The show will be carried live by the Omnisound Radio One Network or you can podcast via the Radio Mayhem website.

Simonetti spend most of the 70's up on into the 80's as one of the main members of the Italian group Goblin, known for their scoring of many classic Italian genre films, especially Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA. Recently, he has formed the group Daemonia, who are on the verge of their first major US tour coming up this fall.

Claudio is currently gearing up to put together the score for Dario Argento's second MASTERS OF HORROR (Season 2) episode, PELTS. Of course this is only touching the surface in explaining Claudio's very storied career!

UPDATE: Joining the show there's also Coralina Cataldi Tassoni (DEMONS 2, OPERA, GHOST SON). She will be discussing her acting career, music and art. It looks like she'll be sticking around for the full two hours!

UNEARTHED unearths a whole lot of great movies!

Greetings Gore Hounds and Dead Girls,

It's time again for another installment of the Unearthed Films Newsletter! We have good news! After a year of screwing around with our old distributor, we have found a new home. The company is called Anthem Pictures and we are working closely with them for the release of the whole Unearthed Catalog. This will include the re-release of all our older titles and yes, at long last, our new films will finally start coming your way. Here is the low down on our new releases. CITY OF ROTT, the extended version, made exclusively for Unearthed Films will be coming out on August 8th. Filled with tons of extras and one of the most beautiful conversions I have ever seen. This animated gore-fest will blow you away. Made by Frank Sudol who worked on the South Park films, you can guess what you're in store for.

Next up is Andrey Iskanov's Russian horror film NAILS. This is Andrey's first film, a kaleidoscope of gore, surrealism and whacked-out philosophy that literally hits the nail on the head. This is the first film in our upcoming Russian Horror Collection. Release date for NAILS is August 15th.

Next up is Brian Paulin's BONE SICKNESS. This is another in an exclusive line of films that have additional gore-filled scenes made exclusively for us. This over the top, zombie gut-muncher is loaded with gore, boobs, decaying zombies and just plain old sticky sickness. Filled with tons of extras. Release date for this monstrosity is Aug 28th. And yes, if you have seen the original, the Sickness just got sicker!

So, that's three new DVDs for the month of August. Next up for September is VISIONS OF SUFFERING, Andrey Iskanov's second feature film containing an extra 40 minutes worth of added gore and computer effects made exclusively for Unearthed Films. Talk about Directors Cuts! This surrealistic splatter film would have Cronenberg and Lynch jealously wishing they had made it! Seriously, Andrey is such a fantastic director that we are in the middle of producing more films with him. More later about this! Release date for VISIONS OF SUFFERING is not yet set in stone BUT it will be in September and we will let you know in a week or two.

FRANKENHOOKER is set for… you guessed it, October, just in time for Halloween. This is the uncut director's version. Tons of extras, like u have come to know and love from us including a commentary by Frank Hennenlotter and Gabe Bartalos, a 19 minute featurette called A Stitch In Time with behind the scenes footage and starring Gabe and the rest of the crew of Frankenhooker. A crazed Jennifer Delora Interview and a sneak peek in her scrap book and last but not least, an interview with Penthouse Playmate of the Year and Frankenhooker star, Patty Mullen!

Then for November, it's LETHAL FORCE! An outrageous mix of kung fu, comedy and gore with a 70's atmosphere and a John Woo directorial feel about it. Sort of hard to explain but it's got the goods and I'm sticking to my story. LOL Loaded with extras including a commentary, short films, extensive photo gallery and more

For December, we are hoping to have ready the first in our series of German Gore Films. First up will be the new and outrageous CANNIBAL (based on the true story of the crazed guy in Germany who advertised on the internet for a victim to eat, an ad that was answered and a victim duly eaten). This film has been banned in Germany. We will follow up with the infamous DAS KOMABRUTTELLE and HUNTING CREATURES, to be quickly followed by a slate of new and known German-made splatter and gore. We are looking at releasing at least one DVD a month from now on. I know a lot of you have complained about not getting a steady flow of sickness from us and it's been mostly due to troubles with our old distributor but, with Anthem, we are hoping to get into a nice groove and never looking back.

Now onto some of the other new films we have picked up for you. In the spirit of the RED ROOM films, we have also acquired MU ZAN E, GIRLSCHOOL HELL and KYOKO VS YUKI from Japan. These vile films from the Tokyo underground should give you a good kick in the teeth. You can find the trailer for MU ZAN E and RED ROOM on our DVD of FLOWER OF FLESH AND BLOOD. It's in the “making of chapters” on the Making of The Guinea Pig Films disc. If u find em, check em out!

We have been busy little cadavers over here and have almost finished producing our new film in Russia with Director Andrey Iskanov, PHILOSOPHY OF A KNIFE. Yes, Unearthed Films has now moved into production mode and, if you think we have dished up the gore to date, wait until you see what we have in store for you here. PHILOSOPHY OF A KNIFE is based on the Japanese chemical and biological experiments of the infamous Unit 731. We tracked down an actual survivor of the atrocities for added realism. This film is balls-to-the-wall and is destined to become one of the all time great cult-gore films; a film that will be heralded as a masterpiece of atrocity. I'm serious, two people ended up badly hurt in the hospital while making this film. The gore sets and scenes or so over the top that I even had to yell at Andrey for going overboard. And that's a first for me!

Next up from Andrey Iskanov and Unearthed Films is ANGEL DUST. The story is in development and we will be working closely with Andrey to make yet another Siberian gem, an atrocity with teeth that will take a bloody chunk out of the soul of the viewer. Will tell you more on this as development proceeds.

Brian Paulin is now in the editing stages of FETUS. This is another film we have helped produce with Brian and it looks like it's going to be very rough. The story of a man whose wife dies during childbirth and who slowly begins to lose his mind as he tries to find a way to contact his dead spouse. He murders the doctors that were involved in his wife's death and tries to resurrect her using the dead body parts of all who were involved. The demonic forces released by his insanity proceed to rip and tear everyone apart Brian Paulin-style. This film crosses way over the line and if u think BONESICKNESS had a lot going for it, wait until you see this film!

We will also be producing Brian Paulin's BONE SICKNESS 2. We are working on the script as we speak and finalizing special effects and zombie prosthetics to make it even more disgusting then the original Bone Sickness.

I am so thrilled about all of these releases. Most of them are brand new or exclusive directors cuts that have never been seen before. If you own any of the Unearthed Films Library, you know what your in store for. So be prepared… be forewarned… Unearthed is coming back with a vengeance!

More details about Argento's THE THIRD MOTHER

First, there was SUSPIRIA. Then, there was INFERNO. Then, there was... nothing. But now, Dario Argento looks to finally be completing the trilogy he began nearly thirty years ago.

The Three Mothers trilogy began in 1978's undisputed classic, SUSPIRIA. In the tale of a German ballet school being a front for a coven of witches, it was revealed that the head mistress was merely one of three such witches throughout the world. The second such witch was seen in Argento's New York-set follow-up, INFERNO.

(note: I stole that from http://www.horrorexpress.com, and boy... have they seen the movies? The Three Mothers are NEVER mentioned in Suspiria, only in Inferno, that talks about the death of Mother Suspiriori and actually SHOWS Mothers Tenebrarum - it's the gorgeous girl that breaks wind, literally, at the music school - and Lacrimarum).

Now, Argento returns to good old Rome for the much-delayed third installment, THE MOTHER OF TEARS. The script was written by the luckiest guys working in the biz, Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch.

(another note: WHAT? Luckiest GUYS? Jace Anderson is a WOMAN!!!!!)

I say this simply because of the number of great projects they've worked on in their few years in the biz. The duo was also responsible for Tobe Hooper's comeback, TOOLBOX MURDERS. They also recently worked on the film, BREW starring Angela Bettis (MAY, TOOLBOX MURDERS). Gierasch will also be soon making his directorial debut with the hospital-set shocker, AUTOPSY. The film does not sound like it is related to the French slasher from a few years back.

The project, which has been in the works for a while, was confirmed at the Cannes Film Festival. Dario's dad Claudio will produce with Giulia Marletta. The Italian production company Medusa will co-produce with a U.S. partner.

(And for strike 3, Claudio is his brother, not his dad! His dad died back when he was making Opera).

"This is going to be vintage Argento," Medusa's Giampaolo Letta told Variety, "Pretty strong stuff."

EVIL BONG has taken on a life of its own!!! Apparently its all over the internet and were getting so many E-Mails and messages! I hope to have it out on DVD by September at the latest and then on VOD and PPV by Halloween! Its being edited right now and looks totally demented! See our new teaser campaign! - It was put together by the super talented Ryan Brookhart who keeps making our stuff look so amazing!

MONSTER MANIA: great seeing you all out there! We had a real good time and special thanks to Dave Hagan, his great Monster Mania team and to Dominic! It was also fun being at a show and having Tim Thomerson, Jeffrey Combs and Bill Moseley all come up on stage with me!
