After Creepshow III... a Creepshow REMAKE!

The people who write for Variety just don't see it when they post some news nonchalantly that is what some may consider life-shattering. In a story about a new 3-pic deal with Grudge producer Taka Ichise has signed with Fox, they list all the projects the man is attached to and just pass off a remake of Creepshow like it’s no big deal. No, this is not the first we’ve heard of it with Ichise’s name attached, but any horror fan who may not have been aware of it and happened to read it in Variety would’ve likely done a spit take all over their paper/monitor.

Back to the aforementioned deal with Fox, it allows them to finance Japanese-language projects via Oz Co., Taka’s Tokyo-based production house. No specific projects were mentioned, but among the list of upcoming works are the remake of The Entity, an untitled film with Grudge helmer Takashi Shimizu for Ghost House Pictures, and remakes of Infection and Premonition (both of which just hit DVD not too long ago). Never let it be said that Ichise doesn’t appreciate the repetitiveness of making the same thing over and over....
